Jason Rogenes

I was first introduced to Jason Rogenes work while I was volunteering for the Friends of Duane Park Loft Tour . The loft was designed by the very talented and one of my all time favorite interior designer Ghislaine Vinas.

Jason is a Brooklyn based designer who saw the potential of using a material that was originally designed to protect packaged electronics to transform it into beautiful sculptures. Styrofoam is  strong yet lightweight raw material that can be manipulated to form different shapes.

Even his drawings have this futuristic playfulness. They will be great at any kids room.

Dining by Design

Last week Emily and I visited the Architectural Digest Home Design Show, and I was really impressed with the creativity and talent of the tables exhibition at the Dining by Design event. DIFFA is one of the greatest supporters and educator of people who live with HIV/AIDS.

Architectural DigestNothing is more elegant than black and white, adding stripes to the mix, it takes it to a whole different level. Designed by Architectural Digest.

Benjamine MooreDavid Stark and Benjamin moore created this color explosion of different patterns, color, shapes, and textures but with the same matte finish uniting everything together.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

While watching the iconic Breakfast at Tiffany’s the other night with my sister, I was surprisingly impressed with the interior spaces shown in the movie.  From the color schemes to the  flocked damask wallpaper to the colored dining chairs, there is a great resemblance to the interior trends of our time. The movie was filmed in the 1960s but the story took place in the 1940s.

Jo Malone London Headquarters

Have you seen the latest issue of Lonny? There is something about the simplicity  of this 18th-century Georgian townhouse that I can’t explain. It feels so serene, but yet so dramatic. The space was designed by Rose Uniacke for the new headquarters of the world-renowned fragrance maker Jo Malone London.

Ceiling Fans – Yay or Nay?

Most of the designers have a Love-Hate relationship with ceiling fans. Ceiling fans are definitely not the first option when we start introducing lighting to a room, however, clients love them. They are very functional and save them some money as well.
The last couple of years ceiling fans have step it up and there are some really good options out there.
Below are some options that I presented to my clients. Do you have a ceiling fan in your home?
